About

Mobile Skillet™ is one of the only digital media and iOS app development companies devoted exclusively to cooking. As producers of affordable, high-quality, cutting-edge recipe apps, we combine the best of traditional cookbook publishing with the cost-saving efficiencies of automated mobile app-creation systems.

Our team has expertise in iPhone and iPad app development, graphic design, copy editing, and data entry. Our approach is hands-on, personal, and service-oriented. We offer a full range of customization options that will help you grow your own brand, connect with your audience, and share your recipes and stories on iPhones and iPads worldwide. Best of all, platform our apps cost a fraction of what you’d pay for development from scratch.

Every Mobile Skillet™ app has an independent, searchable identity on iTunes, a unique icon, and a distinctive page celebrating the author’s contribution – no special e-reader required. When you create an app with us, your app will stand alone, ensuring your name, design, and consumer-face profile will be highly visible to potential customers.

In this celebrity-chef-dominated world, we are leveling the playing field for all great cooks by enabling our clients to create sizzling cooking apps they can share with everyone.

Mobile Skillet Founder, Deborah Chud, MD, is a graduate of Harvard College and Boston University School of Medicine. For a number of years, she was a medical educator and member of the faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine. Subsequently, she served as a consultant to ZonePerfect Nutrition Corporation where she contributed as medical editor, food columnist, and cookbook reviewer. (ZonePerfect Nutrition was acquired by Abbott Laboratories in 2003.) Her cookbook, The Gourmet Prescription, was published in 1999. She previously served as food columnist for Radius Magazine, a lifestyle quarterly devoted to health and wellness that circulates to 100,000 physicians and waiting rooms throughout the country. Her Trufflehead healthy cooking app for iPhone and iPad launched in August of 2011 and has appeared on Apple’s New and Noteworthy, Top 25 Lifestyle, and What’s Hot featured app lists (January 2012). She founded Mobile Skillet in 2012. When time permits, she blogs at aDoctorsKitchen.com, trufflehead.com, and HuffPost Food.

Mobile Skillet’s Director of Acquisitions, Kim Grant, lives at the intersection of content and tech. She understands the mobile world from the inside out, from the ground up.

As the Acquisitions Editor since 2009 for Sutro Media – where she hires authors, develops projects and coaches a global network of over 400 expert authors in app creation – Kim intimately knows and respects the perspectives of content creators.

As the creator of the #1 app to Boston (Boston Travel Essentials), Kim knows how to partner curated content with the right platform, and then execute with aplomb.

As a speaker to author organizations around the world, Kim draws on her vast awareness and synthesis of macro trends in the mobile universe. And she helps laypeople (aka authors) untangle the hyper-evolving and, at times, arcane landscape. In very practical ways, Kim bridges the gap between tech wizards and creative muses.

Prior to joining Sutro, Kim was the Acquisitions Editor for five years for The Countryman Press, where she brought over 150 print titles, by as many authors, to completion.
